Our newest family member

By now, most people have caught on that I'm pregnant. I had planned to wait a couple of more weeks to break the news to the general population, but events that have transpired recently have changed that.

First off, the baby is due February 23, 2010.

I want on the birth control pill. LMP dating and the ultrasound agree that I'm a little over 9 weeks.

I had a check-up with my doctor for my annual. I was supposed to get my BCP refilled. The PA came in and sat down. Not a good sign. She said that I couldn't get my pills refilled, but gave me another prescription. For prenatal vitamins! What?!

I ran like a mad woman to the lab in the same building to make sure the test in the office was right. Those things have a margin of error! I don't care how minute, they do. Well, mine was correct. My pregnancy hormone level was low, but right about what it should be for as early as it was.

Daddy was told on Father's Day. He took the news so much better than I expected. Then, he freaked out, and still is. He'll get it together, but it's slow about that sometimes.

With everything the last couple of days, I've been under a lot of stress and had some spotting. My doctor suggested that I go to the emergency room to have everything checked out.

They can't find any medical reason for the bleeding and it stopped. Ultrasound showed a healthy baby. Yes, only one. I made the tech promise that there was definitely only one.

Now, just waiting for my Valentine.

  1. Congratulations!! I had some spotting early on and ended up in the ER as well, around 5.5 weeks. Everything ended up ok, and now I'm almost 15 weeks! Good luck to you, and congratulations to Lily too! She'll get to be a big sister!!
